tender lives
the seed’s spring

babies look
raised on toes
at nature’s bright

from my womb
believe me
will hope rise
(a seed sprouts life on a parched ground)

to your heart
tie a line
somewhere within i hide
(grass stalks swaying in the wind)

don’t look around
young flowers
lies in your heart the sun
(sunflowers prepare for the night)

branches out
my body
to love you
(a flower upclose)

hope aflutter on wings
looking for food
also for thought
(a red dragonfly astride a twig)

a page torn
from god’s diary
secrets you’ll find in the scribble
(reflection of grass on water)

stand back
a mirror found
your inner self
(reflection of a dried plant in water)

family on a branch
sharing stories
the day ends
(leaves playing with the wind)

jostle for space
a thousand children
in mother’s arms
(silhouette of a tree)

resin and webstrands
share gold
stolen from the sun
(a resin plug glowing in the evening light)

become one you ant
with blood of the tree
come gently to me
(an ant mired in a tree’s resin)

Akpa Forest, District Kinnaur, H.P. India, Strolling through a typical Kinnaur forest one evening, I was trampling hundreds of these three to four inch tall wild plants under my feet. There was this one that stood alone, watching me as if. I laid down on the ground to address this plant eye to eye. Well, it reminded me of something…of why you must kneel down to children while talking to them—and of what all Gods’ light can do.
